Explosive claim from YRP's Kazım Arslan, the newly elected mayor of Yozgat, where the AKP lost! '18 million TL transferred 2 days before the election...'
Kazım Arslan, the YRP candidate elected mayor of Yozgat—a city the AKP lost on March 31—has alleged that 18 million TL was transferred from the municipal treasury to Yozgat Bozokspor players two days before the election.
The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections, also lost cities where it was previously strong.
In Yozgat, known as an AKP stronghold, Yeniden Refah Party (YRP) candidate Kazım Arslan won with 36 percent of the vote. Upon taking office, Arslan brought a striking allegation to the agenda.
Arslan claimed that funds collected for worker and civil servant salaries in Yozgat were transferred to Yozgat Bozokspor players two days before the elections.
'18 MILLION TL TRANSFERRED TO BOZOKSPOR FOOTBALLERS'
In his statement, Yozgat's YRP Mayor Kazım Arslan said, “Two days before the election, 18 million TL was transferred to Yozgat Bozokspor footballers under the guise of bonuses. I find this very wrong. I do not find it ethical. You transferred money collected for worker and civil servant salaries to Bozokspor footballers. A municipal council decision is required for this transfer, and there isn't one. The signature of the financial affairs manager is required, and that is missing too. We are demanding the return of this money.”
