Faik Öztrak's Anıtkabir grievance against Mansur Yavaş: A great disappointment

CHP Group Chairman Faik Öztrak answered questions regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş during a press conference he held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Öztrak criticized Yavaş for not attending the visit to Anıtkabir for the 103rd anniversary of the CHP's founding.

While Yavaş's recent meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the allegations of him changing parties are being discussed on the political agenda, Öztrak expressed his assessment of this issue in clear terms.

The absence of the CHP Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality during our visit to Anıtkabir for our party's 103rd anniversary is a great disappointment for me; it is truly a great disappointment.

Stating that the CHP is not a party that can be "moved by threats or intimidation," Öztrak said he leaves the judgment regarding Yavaş's statement to the public.

Öztrak was also asked about the allegations that Mansur Yavaş might switch to the AK Party or a new party. Öztrak said, "I am not in a position to say anything about what Mansur Yavaş will do."

We have no information other than the statement Yavaş made regarding a transfer. Therefore, we have to respect that statement; but as I just said, we leave the judgment of that statement to our nation.
