Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, who resigned from her position as AKP Deputy Chairperson, met with journalist Hadi Özışık, who is close to the government, following the "fund" scandal that has dominated the public agenda. In a broadcast on his YouTube channel, Özışık shared some details regarding the meeting but stated that he would not disclose the content of the conversation at Kaya's request.
Özışık relayed that regarding her assets, Kaya told him that she possesses "a large number of properties inherited from her grandfather." Özışık stated, "Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya is a landowner through inheritance. In other words, almost all of Doğubayazıt was inherited from her grandfather. She told me this."

Stating that the issue of fund companies also came up during the meeting, Özışık said, "We talked about who got her involved, who encouraged her, and what the actual purpose was. But that conversation will go to the grave with me."
Özışık noted that Kaya requested the conversation not be reported, stating that the meeting would remain "off-the-record." Explaining that Kaya was in a very bad state and cried during the meeting, Özışık said, "My questions were finished, I said, 'Ms. Fatma, we will report this'; Ms. Fatma said, 'For God's sake, don't. I mean, let it remain off-the-record.'"
Stating that there were people asking him to disclose the details of the meeting, Özışık emphasized that he would not do so. Özışık said, "If I were to tell the conversation for the sake of a few pennies worth of ratings or a few pennies worth of clicks, I would be news on all the television channels and a headline in all the newspapers. Journalism requires a conscience."
