Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, who was mentioned in the fund investigation and resigned from her position as AKP Deputy Chairperson following the process, made new statements regarding the allegations against her.
Speaking to journalist Nagehan Alçı, Kaya said there is "misinformation" in the public eye regarding the money traffic that is the subject of the investigation. Stating that she returned the entire amount beyond her principal, Kaya said, "There is a lot of misinformation. I returned the entire amount exceeding 2 billion liras, excluding my principal. I only took back my principal, and I returned the rest exactly as it was."
Regulations in the Capital Markets Law also came to the fore during the process. According to this, it is stated that individuals must pay twice the benefit they obtained or provided to others.
"IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME"
Kaya also responded to allegations that she was connected to Esenyurt Deputy Mayor Yusuf Ulutaş, who was arrested as part of a bribery investigation and from whose home bundles of cash were reportedly recovered.
Journalist Fuat Uğur, known for his proximity to the government, had claimed that Ulutaş entered public service through an exceptional appointment granted by Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya.
Kaya denied this claim, stating, "It has nothing to do with me. I did not provide any reference during my term. If he entered the ministry after my time, I have no information about that either."
