FETÖ crisis between MHP and AKP in Karabük: 'These are the Masons in the organization'

In Karabük, where he has served as mayor for three terms, MHP's Rafet Vergili is being challenged by Özkan Çetinkaya, who was put forward by the AKP. According to a report by Ali Macit from Halk TV, the harshest reaction to the AKP's announcement of Çetinkaya's candidacy came from the MHP mayor, Rafet Vergili. 

Vergili accused Çetinkaya of being a FETÖ member due to the university he attended and claimed that even his diploma is suspicious.

"A FETÖ SCHOOL"

MHP's Vergili criticized Çetinkaya with the following words:

“When the candidate was announced, 'Alfred University' was written behind our President. This Alfred University is a FETÖ school. It is a great shame to write this here. Our entire People's Alliance unity began after the evening of July 15. I objected before anyone else on July 15. If the FETÖ members had been able to carry out the coup, perhaps we wouldn't be here today. Perhaps we would be in prison, we don't know. Such an organization was fought against. This is now a signal to that organization. Alfred University has been banned by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and it is a FETÖ university.

"THESE ARE THE MASONS IN THE ORGANIZATION"

Friends say, “We don't want to fight”. We didn't fight, we always told the truth. These are the Masons in the organization. Right now, all over the world, Masons recognize each other with one or two signs. Now he says, “I am an AKP member, I am a youth branch candidate. Don't be afraid of FETÖ, we are here” they say.

DIPLOMA ALLEGATION 

MHP's Rafet Vergili claimed that even Özkan Çetinkaya's diploma is suspicious, stating that he was sending a message to certain places. Vergili also said the following:

“Let's say, God forbid, that the coup had taken place, what would have happened to us? We would definitely have experienced great difficulties, perhaps we would be in prison, we could have been killed. So, when the situation is like this, if someone is sending a message to someone by saying Alfred University, I will voice my reaction to it.”
