First comment from the People's Alliance on the Özel-Erdoğan meeting! 'We don't know what will happen tomorrow...'

Evaluating the meeting between AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP leader Özgür Özel, Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), a partner in the People's Alliance, stated, "This is a positive atmosphere. Even though some people tried to pull it from left and right and create confusion during yesterday's meeting, the statements made by the CHP and the AK Party were reflected to the public as the meeting having gone positively."

First comment from the People's Alliance on the Özel-Erdoğan meeting! 'We don't know what will happen tomorrow...'

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici paid a congratulatory visit to the Günyüzü district municipality in Eskişehir, his hometown, which the BBP won in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections.

Speaking to journalists after the visit, Destici gave the following response to a question regarding the meeting between AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel;

"What gave us hope was the attitude after the election. This is a positive atmosphere. Even though some people tried to pull it from left and right and create confusion during yesterday's meeting, the statements made by the CHP and the AK Party were reflected to the public as the meeting having gone positively.

The fact that they did not immediately call for an early election after the success of the municipalities they won, that they displayed an attitude regarding the election being held on time, and at the very least, that they are currently meeting with our Parliament Speaker regarding constitutional work, shows they are maintaining an attitude open to dialogue; this is beneficial for our country, our nation, and our homeland."

"WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW..."

Stating that parties and political identities may be different but everyone is a child of this country, Destici said, "We are citizens of this state; the state is ours, the country is ours, the nation is ours. Our priority should be the state, the country, and the nation. Currently, the new management of the CHP is maintaining this attitude for today. We don't know what will happen tomorrow; when the Constitution comes to the agenda tomorrow and when everyone declares what they want, of course, different views will emerge. But for today's attitude, I also find the meeting positive. Hopefully, if the CHP puts distance between itself and these terrorist extensions in the coming days, then that would be excellent."
