First move from Özgür Özel, who is preparing a new party
CHP's elected Samsun Provincial Chair Mehmet Özdağ stated in front of the building rented for the new party, "We are starting a new march."
It has been announced that the first provincial building for the new party, which Özgür Özel is said to be establishing, has been rented in Samsun. CHP's elected Samsun Provincial Chair Mehmet Özdağ said in a statement in front of the new building that the process has been initiated in Samsun as a new political march.
A day earlier, Özdağ had faced off at the party provincial building with Mehmet Pank, the CHP Samsun Provincial Chair appointed by Kılıçdaroğlu. Following the tension, Özdağ moved to the building rented as part of the new party efforts and addressed his supporters there.
Using the phrase "appointed coup-plotter officials of absolute nullity" in his statement, Özdağ stated that they had not surrendered the provincial chairmanship office. Özdağ emphasized that as they left the CHP Provincial Headquarters building, they took Atatürk's six principles and the hope for power with them.
Stating that they are acting under the leadership of Özgür Özel, Özdağ said they would not leave Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom he referred to as a presidential candidate, and "all their imprisoned friends" alone.
Emphasizing a secular, social, democratic state of law in his speech, Özdağ said, "We will be wherever our Chairman calls us." Stating that they will continue the struggle together with the democratic public in Samsun, Özdağ concluded his statement with the words, "Now, we are starting a new path, a new march with you at the Özgür Özel Communication Office. This building may change. The address may change. But our stance will not change."
