First response from İsmail Ok to Özgür Özel's 'national will' remarks: He criticized him via the DEM Party

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel criticized İsmail Ok, the then-İYİ Party candidate they supported in 2019 who is now active in politics within the AKP, at a candidate introduction meeting held at the Balıkesir Kurtdereli Indoor Sports Hall. Özel spoke as follows:

HE HAD CRITICIZED İSMAİL OK

“We withdrew because they asked for İsmail Ok. Ahmet cried, we all cried, we withdrew. The İYİ Party asked for support for İsmail Ok, and we gave all our support. But he took that support. Then he left us all and went to the AK Party. This needs to be accounted for. No one can settle this account other than Ahmet Akın. Balıkesir will give an answer to İsmail Ok's theft of the national will. Will they let them get away with it? Should the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality remain with the AK Party? They made us withdraw, and the candidate from the İYİ Party, that candidate worked not to win, but officially to lose. He took the municipality that Ahmet Akın had won, which was in the hands of the Nation Alliance, and gave it to the People's Alliance. Well, should they get away with it? Balıkesir will not let them get away with it. It will not leave it to the AK Party,” he said in response to his words.

In response to Özel's words, AKP member Ok gave the following reply:

“Co-chairman Özgür Özel, who uses Atatürkism as a mask, has attempted to accuse us of theft of the national will in Balıkesir. However, the one who is a thief of the national will is Özgür Özel. Because it is now known to the public that by wearing the Atatürk mask, they have collaborated with the PKK's political extension, the HDP, or the DEM as it is called today.”
