First statement from Abdurrahman Tutdere following house arrest decision
Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, who was placed under judicial control and house arrest, has broken his silence. Speaking after the decision, Tutdere stated that they would be following the process closely.
CHP Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere made his first statement following the judicial control and house arrest decision issued against him. Responding to questions from members of the press as he left the courthouse, Tutdere expressed concern for the other mayors currently in custody.
“OUR WISH AND HOPE IS FOR THEIR FREEDOM”
Mayor Tutdere reminded that the interrogation of Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, in particular, is still ongoing, and used the following expressions:
“Currently, the interrogation of our other colleagues is continuing. The process for Mayor Zeydan is ongoing. Our wish and hope is that they regain their freedom as soon as possible. We will follow this process together; we will wait and see.”
“WE WILL COMPLY WITH WHATEVER THE COURT DECIDES”
When asked whether the house arrest would be implemented immediately, Tutdere gave the following response:
“We will comply with whatever the court decision is. We respect the law. We will do whatever is required of us within the legal framework.”
