First statement from the DEM Party Imralı delegation following the visit to terrorist leader Öcalan!
The DEM Party Imralı delegation has issued a statement following their visit to Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK.
The DEM Party Imralı delegation issued a written statement yesterday regarding their visit to Abdullah Öcalan, the imprisoned leader of the separatist terrorist organization, at Imralı Prison.
The statement read as follows:
"On October 3, 2025, we held a meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan at Imralı Prison that lasted nearly three and a half hours. Mr. Öcalan was, as always, extremely high-spirited, healthy, and confident.
He stated that with the Peace and Democratic Society Process that began a year ago, a state of non-conflict has prevailed in our country and major dangers have been averted, and that everyone who played a role in this is the owner of a great and honorable effort.
Mr. Öcalan suggested that democratic negotiation should be made dominant in all political and social relations, saying, 'One of the important solution models that civilization has developed after three centuries of destructive conflicts and the terrible losses in world wars is deliberative democracy. The methods and mechanisms that form its essence should be taken as a basis for the solution of many problems that Turkey faces both internally and externally.'
Stating, 'We stand behind our sentence in the February 27 statement that the development of the process depends on political and legal requirements,' Mr. Öcalan emphasized that at the current stage, it is extremely important to identify and implement legal requirements with an accurate and holistic perspective.
Finally, Mr. Öcalan expressed that the new century of the Republic must be built on the law of peace and democracy.
Respectfully."
