Former AKP Mayor backs the scandal at the Super Cup Final
Former AKP Sapanca Mayor and SUBÜ faculty member Prof. Dr. Aydın Yılmazer backed the scandal at the Super Cup Final in a post on his social media account.
Reactions continue following the Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe match in Saudi Arabia.
BACKED THE SCANDAL
Former AKP Sapanca Mayor and SUBÜ Faculty of Tourism faculty member Prof. Dr. Aydın Yılmazer compared Atatürk to Hitler, Mussolini, and Mao in a post on his social media account.
In his post, while attempting to argue that the same situation would be wrong for leaders of other countries, Yılmazer included "examples" ranging from Nazi Germany leader Adolf Hitler to Italy's fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, who was executed in 1945, and from EOKA founder Nikos Sampson to Israel's founder Theodor Herzl.
"HITLER" EXAMPLE
Yılmazer used the following expressions:
"The question is: If one day Panathinaikos, managed by Fatih Terim, comes out for a match to be played in Turkey with slogans of 'Long Live Greater Greece' and pictures of *Venizelos, what will you say? 'Go ahead and do it'? Will you allow a German team to come out with Hitler, an Israeli team with Theodor Herzl, an Italian team with Mussolini, a British team with Churchill, a Bolivian team with Che, a Russian team with Stalin, a Chinese team with Mao, a Saudi team with Lawrence, an Iraqi team with Barzani, or a Greek Cypriot team with Nikos Sampson? Where has it ever been seen that politics is brought into sports?"
