Former AKP mayor becomes IYI Party candidate
Enver Yılmaz, the former Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor who was elected from the AKP and later resigned from both the AKP and his mayoral post, has joined the IYI Party and become their mayoral candidate.
Enver Yılmaz, an AKP deputy for the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th terms who resigned from his post as Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor in 2018, has joined the IYI Party and become their mayoral candidate.
HE HAD RESIGNED FROM THE AKP
Enver Yılmaz, who resigned from his position as Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor in 2018 after serving for 4.5 years following a request for his resignation by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, had also resigned from the AKP.
The ceremony was attended by IYI Party Deputy Chairman Ünzile Yüksel, Group Deputy Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Head of Local Governments Burak Akburak, General Administrative Board (GİK) member Rıdvan Yalçın, Provincial Chairman Melikşah Murat Genç, and party members.
HE BECAME A CANDIDATE FOR THE IYI PARTY
Speaking at the event, IYI Party Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Enver Yılmaz said, “As of this hour, we are now members of the IYI Party. I am pleased to be among you. I hope that in the upcoming March 31 elections, we will come before you with a victory and a result that will not embarrass either the IYI Party or our crescent-and-star badge. We have that will, and the nation has that belief. When we bring that will and belief together as a party, I hope we will achieve results.”
