Former AKP Mayor of Ağrı, Savcı Sayan, issued harsh criticisms of his party in a statement made via social media. Sayan used striking language regarding economic difficulties and the situation within the party.

Savcı Sayan stated that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is surrounded by misinformation and that the truth is being prevented from reaching him. Asking, "Do you even care about the nation's struggle to make a living, the fire in the markets, the cries of the unemployed, or the plight of the tradesmen?" Sayan expressed that party members remain indifferent to the problems of the public.

Stating that isolating President Erdoğan and misleading him is a great betrayal, Sayan said, "The real issue is not winning three or five municipalities, but winning back the millions who have drifted away from us." He noted that the party cannot maintain its existence as long as the public's problems are not listened to.

Sayan expressed that focusing on the CHP is a mistake and that the greatest harm to the President comes from circles appearing as friends. Saying, "The price of this mistake will be heavy," Sayan called on party members to embrace the public and make the nation's troubles their own.

Finally, Sayan stated, "The nation is hungry, their pockets are empty, and their morality is collapsing. Our youth are being poisoned, our families are falling apart, and our society is decaying," adding that if this course is not stopped, history will blame the AKP the most.
