Former minister Agah Oktay Güner has passed away
Former Minister of Culture and Trade Agah Oktay Güner has passed away at the age of 88. A funeral ceremony will be held for Güner at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey tomorrow.
Agah Oktay Güner, who held significant roles in Turkish politics for a period, has passed away at the age of 88. Güner had served as the Minister of Trade in the 41st Government and as the Minister of Culture in the 53rd Government. A ceremony will be held for his funeral at the TBMM tomorrow at 14:00.
Throughout his political career, Agah Oktay Güner served in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as a deputy for Konya in the 16th term, Ankara in the 20th term, and Balıkesir in the 21st term. While serving as the Minister of Trade in the government led by Süleyman Demirel between 1977 and 1978, he later served as the Minister of Culture and Tourism in the government led by Mesut Yılmaz in 1996.
