Former Minister Şükrü Yürür passes away
Former Minister of Industry and Trade Şükrü Yürür has passed away at the age of 79 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Şükrü Yürür, who served as the Minister of Industry and Trade during the Motherland Party (ANAP) era and was an ANAP Ordu Member of Parliament for the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st terms, was admitted for treatment in Ankara some time ago due to chronic illnesses.
CEREMONY TO BE HELD AT THE TBMM
Following a ceremony to be held tomorrow at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Şükrü Yürür will be laid to rest on Saturday in the Ünye district of Ordu.
WHO IS ŞÜKRÜ YÜRÜR?
Born in 1944 in the Ünye district of Ordu, Yürür graduated from the Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences. Having served as the General Director of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Trade and as the Secretary General of the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE), Yürür also worked in the private sector before serving as an Ordu MP in the TBMM during the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st terms. Yürür also served as the Minister of Industry and Trade.
