Former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen’s claims proven baseless: Sharp response from CHP

Former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen continues to make headlines with his frequent statements targeting the new administration and Mayor Sinem Dedetaş. 

However, it has emerged that the vast majority of the claims voiced by Türkmen are untrue. 

CHP Üsküdar District Chair İbrahim Çağlar Atalar responded to Türkmen's rhetoric, stating that the claims do not reflect the truth and are creating misinformation among the public.  

Many of the claims included in Türkmen's statements criticizing the new municipal administration have been refuted with subsequent explanations and documents. Here are the prominent claims and the facts:

????He said USMEK centers were closed, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said the Üsküdar Science Center was closed, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said the Selimiye Soup Kitchen was closed, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said the Children's Village was closed, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said mosques are not being cleaned, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said we have no debt, it turned out Üsküdar Municipality has 600 million TL in SGK debt. 

????He said food is not being distributed to those in need, it turned out to be a lie.

????He said Suffahane was closed, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said we were providing home healthcare services, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said scholarships are not being provided, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said the Valide Sultan Ship is being sold, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said trash is not being collected in Üsküdar, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said properties belonging to Üsküdar Municipality are being sold, it was revealed that he was the one who put them up for sale. 

????It was revealed that he issued licenses at jet speed for illegal cafes on the Üsküdar coast. 

????He said 22 thousand residences were transformed in 10 years, it was revealed that only 22 residences were transformed by the municipality. 

????He said Ekrem İmamoğlu did not make infrastructure investments in Üsküdar, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said soup distribution has ended, it turned out to be a lie. 

????He said the IMM is not doing any work on the Salacak Coast, it turned out to be a lie.

CHP Üsküdar District Chair İbrahim Çağlar Atalar described Türkmen's statements as "baseless" and "misleading to the public," and made the following remarks:

“Hilmi Türkmen’s claims do not reflect the truth. They are attempting to wear down the new administration by misinforming the public. We are providing service to the people of Üsküdar based on transparent and factual information. We will continue to disclose the irregularities committed during the Türkmen era.”
