Full support and praise from President Erdoğan for Devlet Bahçeli, thanks to CHP leader Özel

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at the AKP Group meeting.

Following the statement made by MHP leader Bahçeli on October 22, President Erdoğan, who had not previously evaluated the matter, had most recently stated, "The approach put forward by our People's Alliance partner should be viewed without prejudice."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

The joy of October 29 was experienced with various ceremonies and events, with great pride. I would like to thank everyone, all the leaders, who shared our holiday joy here. I once again commemorate with mercy the martyrs and veterans of the national struggle, all our martyrs who fought heroically in the defense of the homeland throughout our history, and all our brave veterans.

TERRORIST ATTACK ON TUSAŞ

Last week, there was a vile terrorist attack on the facilities of TUSAŞ, one of the greatest achievements of our Republic. I wish mercy upon our brothers who fell as martyrs in this attack. May our nation's condolences be accepted. I wish a speedy recovery to our wounded.

Yesterday, we visited TUSAŞ and embraced the employees. We delivered the first of our domestic and national helicopter, the T625 GÖKBEY, to our Gendarmerie General Command with a ceremony. Before the end of the year, we will have delivered two more GÖKBEYs to our gendarmerie. In 2026, we will carry out the delivery of a total of 20 GÖKBEY helicopters to our various institutions. I saw our TUSAŞ employees more determined; there was a sense of dedication in their eyes. I believe that despite the traitors, they will continue to keep the spirits of their martyred friends alive by producing and working more.

'THIS REPUBLIC IS THE REPUBLIC OF BOTH THE TURK AND THE KURD'

The Republic has taken shape as the common decision of our nation. The Republic is not the republic of a certain person, a certain group, a certain mass, a certain sect, or an ethnic origin. This Republic is the republic of the poor as much as it is of the rich. This Republic is the republic of both the Alevi and the Sunni. It is the republic of both the right and the left.

This republic is the republic of both the Turk and the Kurd. This republic is the republic of the Laz, the Circassian, the Greek, that is, everyone who says 'I am an honorable citizen of the Republic of Turkey.' No one who is loyal to this homeland has a problem with the republic.

'TURKEY IS NOT AN ORDINARY STATE'

With our red flag, which takes its color from the blood of our martyrs, and our National Anthem, which is the foundational text of our unity and brotherhood, the republic is our bright future. We will continue to protect and safeguard the spirit of the republic. Some countries in our immediate geography could not show the same success. In the geography that is the legacy of the Ottoman Empire, blood, tears, war, and conflict have not ceased for a century. Turkey is inevitably affected by this chaos. The mistake is here. Those who look at the chaos in our geography have been afraid, startled, uneasy, and have treated our republic like a timid bird. It has led to the creation of internal enemies. Every member of this nation, especially our youth, should know this well. Turkey is not an ordinary state. We are not a nation that appeared on the stage of history for the first time on October 29, but a nation that has returned to the stage. Undoubtedly, October 29 is very important. It is a critical turning point in history, but this noble nation is a nation that has both existed on the stage of history and written history, made history for centuries, for thousands of years.

'WE WERE STABBED IN THE BACK'

When we founded our AK Party in 2001, our biggest goal was to bring the state and the nation together, to unite the people with the republic. We never gave up on growing brotherhood. When we took office, there was serious neglect in our Eastern and Southeastern provinces along with the rest of our country. No one can deny that we have made the greatest investments in history in our Eastern and Southeastern provinces with their infrastructure, superstructure, and production. While doing this, we said that we would dry up terrorism and the swamp where terrorism breeds, and we would grow brotherhood. Over the past 22 years, we have walked and are walking in the same direction without wavering. We have done, tried, and experienced almost everything that needed to be done, how it needed to be done, to grow the brotherhood of the Turk and the Kurd. Every time, we encountered a wall, a betrayal. Those who fed on the problem prevented the solution to the problem. They did not want terrorism to end. They did not consent to the end of violence. Those who saw that Turkey would grow in every field set up barriers in front of brotherhood, set traps. They mobilized their secret apparatuses. We paid a heavy price, we saw much betrayal. We were, as some say, unfortunately stabbed in the back. We never, ever departed from the law of brotherhood.

'BAHÇELİ'S CALL IS EXCITING'

After the July 15 coup attempt, by establishing the People's Alliance, we both added strength to the power of our state and gained self-confidence for our nation. From here, I express my greetings and gratitude once again to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and the entire MHP community on behalf of my group. Devlet Bey is a leader who always leaves a mark on history and sets the direction for history with his attitude, speech, discourse, and politics. He has explained what nationalism is in the clearest, most explicit, and most striking way. Those who read his latest calls within this framework see a historic window of opportunity and are excited. Those who pursue personal agendas instead of common interests are struggling in a swamp of inconsistency and empty talk. Our interlocutor is our nation. We know that our nation supports our approach regarding taking the necessary steps for Turkey to get rid of the burden of terrorism and to remain away from the instabilities experienced in the world and its region. We have no call, and cannot have one, to the separatist terrorist organization in northern Iraq and Syria, or to the terror barons in Qandil.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHP LEADER ÖZEL

It is not possible for Turkey to make concessions to formations that support terrorism, back terrorism, and serve hostility rather than brotherhood, and lawlessness rather than law. Politics with terrorism and democracy with violence do not go side by side. They do not coexist in the same vessel. Terrorism cannot be carried in one seat and civil politics in the other. From here, I also convey my appreciation to CHP Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel. The state should be everyone's state, the state should embrace everyone equally. I congratulate Mr. Özel for expressing this with an open heart. I want to believe with all my heart that the CHP will take its place on the side of brotherhood under Özel's chairmanship.

DETENTION OF ESENYURT MAYOR ÖZER

You will also learn what lawlessness is. You need to know this. Where there is lawlessness, there is no justice. Where there is lawlessness, there is no fair form of administration. You are obliged to learn these. Why are you uncomfortable while the members of the terrorist organization are ravaging Esenyurt? You will support the current administration here. We will not back down from the steps we have taken. Our primary interlocutor is our Kurdish brothers themselves. Mr. Özel, my Kurdish brother now sees the fiction staged through the separatist organization for 40 years. He sees that the Israeli flag is also being waved alongside the organization's rags at the demonstration in Europe; you will see this too.
