Galip Ensarioğlu says 'trustee appointments could be lifted': He explained the conditions

The new process, which began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms and became more concrete following the DEM Party's visit to İmralı, continues to be debated in the political arena. Evaluating the process, AKP Diyarbakır MP Galip Ensarioğlu stated that the stance of the DEM Party is of critical importance.

'THE DEM PARTY'S STANCE WILL BE DECISIVE'

Speaking to Ferit Aslan from Medyascope, Ensarioğlu drew attention to the role of the DEM Party in the process and used the following expressions:

"If Qandil does not do what Öcalan, who is its founding will, says, this organization will cease to be a Turkey-based structure and will become a pawn of imperialists or Iran. At this point, the position the DEM Party will take in response to Öcalan's stance is becoming more important than the PKK laying down its arms."

Ensarioğlu emphasized that if the process reaches a successful conclusion, all peoples will emerge as winners, while noting that in the event of failure, the state will continue its struggle.

'TRUSTEE APPOINTMENTS COULD BE LIFTED'

Stating that significant changes could occur if the DEM Party rejects the tutelage of Qandil, Ensarioğlu added the following:

"If the DEM Party stands with Öcalan and rejects the tutelage of Qandil, the trustee appointment practices will also come to an end. In this case, the DEM Party will distance itself from the armed organization and determine its own free politics."

'IT IS NECESSARY TO LAY DOWN ARMS COMPLETELY' 

Ensarioğlu stated that the phrase "laying down arms" does not mean ending actions directed at Turkey, but rather laying down arms completely. He also drew attention to the importance of the process by emphasizing the work on a new constitution.
