16 AKP deputies are not satisfied with the İmamoğlu process: Are dissenting voices rising?

CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan made a significant claim during a program he attended on TELE1. Akdoğan suggested that a notable objection has emerged from within the AKP regarding the judicial process that resulted in the conviction of Ekrem İmamoğlu.

According to Akdoğan's statement, 16 female deputies from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) expressed their serious discomfort regarding the process in question and approached a group deputy chairman. It was stated that the female deputies expressed that the process was contrary to both law and conscience.

CHP's Akdoğan described the details of the event with the following statements:

“I am not saying this to exonerate anyone, but I find it important. 16 female AKP deputies went to one of their group deputy chairmen. They said: ‘We talked among ourselves. Different colleagues have also been talking among themselves.

We came together and wanted to tell you. Please convey this to the President. This process is not going well. It will disturb us both in this world and in the hereafter. This process is not in accordance with the law. We, as female deputies, are saying this.’”

Evaluating this move by the female deputies, Akdoğan continued as follows:

“Women are generally more sensitive and more conscientious. This move is an indicator of that. Apparently, this idea had been building up inside them for a while. A common will was formed by saying, ‘He told me this, she told me that.’ Some might deny that this conversation took place. But I know it did. It would be worse if it were denied. Because no one can tell those female deputies, ‘This process fits our conscience.’”
