A silent message in the ministry office: It was there during the Soylu era, and it has returned!
Following the change of duty at the Ministry of Interior by the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the first arrangement made by the new Minister, Mustafa Çiftçi, in his office drew attention. The beige armchairs used during the Ali Yerlikaya era were removed, and the brown armchairs from the Süleyman Soylu era were reinstalled.
With the cabinet reshuffle carried out last week by presidential decree, changes were made in the Ministries of Interior and Justice. In this context, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya was removed from his post, and Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed in his place.
Within the scope of the same cabinet arrangement, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç handed over his duty to Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. At the Ministry of Interior, Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed to replace Yerlikaya.
FIRST CHANGE IN THE OFFICE
Following the handover, a notable arrangement was made in the Ministry of Interior office. The beige-colored armchairs used during the Ali Yerlikaya era were removed from the room. The new Minister, Çiftçi, placed a different seating group that had been used previously in the area where guests are hosted.
ARMCHAIRS FROM THE SOYLU ERA BROUGHT BACK INTO USE
With the arrangement made, it was observed that the brown armchairs that were in the office during the term of former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu were brought back into use. It was stated that these armchairs were used to host guests during Soylu's ministry.
Claims that the competition and disagreements allegedly experienced in the past between Süleyman Soylu and Ali Yerlikaya were reflected in the preferences in the office had previously been reflected in the public eye in AKP lobbies. The latest arrangement caused these claims to come to the agenda once again.
“THE NECESSARY ACTION WAS TAKEN” DIALOGUE DREW ATTENTION
A short dialogue between Süleyman Soylu and AKP Deputy Osman Gökçek before the AKP Group Meeting held after the cabinet reshuffle also drew attention. It was reported that the two joked about the new cabinet with the words, "The necessary action was taken. The necessary action was taken."
The phrase "the necessary action was taken" had become established in the public eye as an expression frequently used by Ali Yerlikaya, who began his duty as Minister of Interior in June 2023, in his social media posts regarding operations, detentions, and arrests.
