While allegations of irregularities in the exam held in 2025 as part of the High School Transition System (LGS) have caused widespread public reaction, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin spoke on the matter for the first time. Responding to criticism from opposition parties regarding "exam security," Tekin stated that the incident at the center of the allegations consisted solely of a teacher violating exam rules.

"INVIGILATOR PHOTOGRAPHED THE BOOKLET OF A STUDENT WHO DID NOT ATTEND"

Minister Tekin confirmed that during the exam, a teacher opened the booklet of a student who did not attend the exam without authorization, took photos of it, and subsequently shared these photos in a WhatsApp group. Tekin made the following statement regarding the incident in question:

"In the first session, which started at 09:30 and was completed at 10:45, a booklet belonging to a student who did not attend the exam was opened by an assigned teacher, photographed, and shared in a messaging group consisting of four people."

Yusuf Tekin emphasized that the shared images did not exactly match the original materials used by the Ministry, stating that the system is capable of distinguishing manipulations:

"Our Ministry's IT infrastructure has the capacity to analyze any kind of anomaly in the exam process. This incident does not reflect a security vulnerability in our system or the exam as a whole."

"AN ISOLATED INCIDENT"

Minister Tekin argued that the incident did not undermine the reliability of the exam as a whole. For this reason, Tekin stated that demands for the cancellation of the LGS were unfounded and characterized the criticisms as "irresponsible." He included the following statements in his explanation:
