Celebrities react to İmamoğlu's detention! 'None of us are safe'

As part of an operation launched at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, a detention order was issued for Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 105 other people.

Özge Özpirinçci, known for her role as Karsu in Sandık Kokusu, shared a post regarding the detentions that took place on the morning of March 19.

Following the detentions, Özge Özpirinçci first shared İmamoğlu's words, "I entrust myself to the nation," on her social media account.

Özge Özpirinçci continued by stating, "While telling our children about these unjust, lawless, shameful, and terrible days we are living through, I want to be able to say, 'but all of this is behind us, and look, as he said, everything turned out beautiful'."

Pınar Altuğ also made a post, adding the note, "We woke up to a pitch-black day on what should have been a bright one."

Following the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu, several celebrities made posts. After figures like Reynmen, Pınar Altuğ, and Özge Özpirinçci, Merve Boluğur also shared a post.

The actress shared a post about Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on social media, writing, "There is no salvation alone!!!"

Actress Berna Laçin:

"So, administrative court cases from 35 years ago are a thing now; we used to know that unless it was a crime against humanity, terrorism, etc., there would be a statute of limitations within a certain number of years. New Turkey"

Access issues were also experienced on social media applications following the detention orders. While social media was discussing the news of the detentions, Reynmen rebelled.

"YOU DEEMED EVERYONE DESERVING OF EVERYTHING THEY EXPERIENCED"

"You either mocked those who spoke out while hiding behind your anonymous accounts, or you silenced them. Now, you are hiding behind those same accounts and inciting the public to speak. We spoke yesterday, you didn't understand; what will you change if we speak today? Yesterday, when Ümit Özdağ was taken, you called it fascist; today, when Ekrem İmamoğlu is taken, you said 'he deserved it'."

"We couldn't explain that you need to speak out against lawlessness. You deemed everyone deserving of everything they experienced. If I speak today and I am taken in, you will say to me too, 'it wasn't his job, it's for the best.' Who among those who spoke out and cared for the survival of their country did you ever stand by?" said Reynmen, continuing with the following statements:

"You have distanced us so far from the issues we need to discuss by digging through the dirt that today we don't even know who or what we should defend. Then, we were labeled apolitical by you again. No one in this country is as apolitical as you think. They can't be. They just can't get involved in anything anymore. Don't look for a culprit; we are the culprits, both on the right and the left.
