Cem Küçük admits to 'ordered' political gossip: 'They want it to be discussed'

A notable statement in the media world came from Türkiye newspaper columnist Cem Küçük. Speaking during a live broadcast, Küçük expressed that some news reports are written under direction for the purpose of setting the agenda.

CLAIM OF "WRITTEN ON ORDER"

In his statement, Küçük indicated that the government has certain behind-the-scenes information written up in order to create public debate. In this context, he said that claims regarding the Council of Ministers, in particular, are conveyed to specific journalists and that articles are written accordingly.

POINTING TO SELVI

Touching upon Hürriyet newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi in his remarks, Küçük used striking expressions regarding Selvi's behind-the-scenes columns.

Küçük began his remarks by saying, "Abdulkadir is my friend; sometimes he writes, and we discuss it," and went on to claim that certain information is passed on to Selvi.

"HE WAS WRITING AND NOTHING EVER CAME OF IT"

Regarding the process in question, Küçük stated, "They would tell Abdulkadir Selvi, he would write it, and nothing would ever come of it." Stating that he investigated the reason for this, Küçük expressed that the process was carried out deliberately.

Continuing his statement, Küçük noted that such content is brought to the agenda to create public debate, saying, "I dug into this, and it turns out that's how it was wanted. They wanted it to be discussed."
