Convention crisis grows in CHP: Is the path opening for the return of the Kılıçdaroğlu team? That phrase in the minutes drew attention

The second hearing of the cancellation lawsuit regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention was held at the Dışkapı Courthouse 42nd Civil Court of First Instance.

The case was adjourned to June 30. It was recorded in the minutes that the essence of the lawsuit is the removal of the Özgür Özel administration and the reinstatement of the Kılıçdaroğlu team.

Following the applications of former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş and some CHP delegates, the lawsuits filed for the cancellation of the 38th Ordinary Convention, where Özgür Özel was elected chairman, were consolidated.

The second hearing of the case is to be held. In the first hearing, the judge requested the convention attendance list, the certificate of election, and the decisions taken. Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was summoned to testify, but Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he would not attend.

The following statements were included in the minutes of the case, which was adjourned to June 30:

Upon examination of the file, it is understood that the lawsuit claims that the convention dated November 4-5, 2023, was flawed due to the scope of the crime and instances of vitiated will, and therefore Özgür Özel and his administration have no legal validity; that an extraordinary convention decision was taken under the same intent of illegality to eliminate the cancellation lawsuits regarding the previous convention and to render these cases moot; that since CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was elected chairman at an extraordinary convention that was flawed with absolute nullity and is considered void, the decisions he made during his tenure as chairman would also be void; that the extraordinary convention held on April 6, 2025, is also void; that the previous lawsuit should be consolidated with our court's file; and that the lawsuit requests the determination and cancellation of the CHP extraordinary convention held on April 6, 2025, the precautionary removal from office of the Chairman, Central Executive Board members, Party Assembly members, and High Disciplinary Board members elected as a result of the CHP 38th Ordinary Convention dated November 4-5, 2023, which was flawed with absolute nullity, and the reinstatement of former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the previous Party Assembly, and the previous High Disciplinary Board members who were in office before November 4-5.
