Debt dispute within AKP grows: Melih Gökçek says 'I didn't have a single penny of debt' and attacks Mustafa Tuna

Following the Social Security Institution's (SGK) initiation of foreclosure proceedings due to municipal debts, the debts remaining from the era of former Mayor Melih Gökçek have come to the fore.

In a program he attended on TV100, Gökçek blamed Mustafa Tuna, the AKP member who served as mayor for 2 years after him.

'THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE PENNY OF DEBT'

Melih Gökçek said about the AKP's Tuna, “Mustafa Tuna is lying completely. He is acting dishonestly. When I handed over the municipality, there was not a single penny of tax debt or insurance debt. As for the companies, only one of them had a very small debt of 195 thousand TL in the currency of that day. If the companies had insurance and tax debts, they could not enter municipal tenders. Therefore, the debt of all of them was zero. Therefore, whoever says this is lying, is speaking dishonestly.

''The total debt I left to Mansur Yavaş is 2.2 billion liras. Mansur Yavaş says 3.5 billion TL. But the remaining amount is the debt left over from Mustafa Tuna's time,” he stated.

Gökçek said, “Melih Gökçek had not delayed a salary for a single day until that day. What is this man talking about? He is talking nonsense, he is officially talking nonsense,” and added, “After Mustafa Tuna took office, he did the opposite of what I did in every subject.

For example, regarding Ankapark, he is no different from Mansur Yavaş. He said he would dismantle Ankapark. Have no doubt about it. I am amazed at Mustafa Tuna's AKP membership,” he said.
