Erdoğan shapes the cabinet in Marmaris: Those names will no longer be included

It has been stated that President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan did not remain idle in Marmaris, where he spent the Eid al-Adha holiday, and instead focused on significant changes regarding the cabinet and the bureaucracy.

According to insider information obtained by Halk TV, Erdoğan has made the decision "not to continue with passive names." It is being discussed that Erdoğan has largely completed his preparations for the cabinet reshuffle, which is expected to be announced towards the end of June.

The fact that the CHP increased its vote share to become the leading party in the March 31 local elections had accelerated discussions of change within the AKP. While President Erdoğan dismissed many provincial and district heads after the election, he had not yet taken a step regarding the cabinet.

However, signs from public opinion polls indicating that the gap between the CHP and the AKP is widening have accelerated efforts regarding the cabinet and bureaucratic appointments.

“HE HAS FORMED THE SQUAD IN HIS MIND”

According to information leaked from AKP circles, Erdoğan has formed a specific structure in his mind regarding both the cabinet reshuffle and critical appointments in the bureaucracy during his time in Marmaris. Erdoğan, who has preferred Marmaris before previous cabinet changes as well, is expected to accelerate the change process upon his return to Ankara.

Some figures within the party hope that these moves regarding the cabinet and bureaucracy will also calm the growing infighting within the AKP. It is emphasized that making the changes without delay is "critical for the future of the party."

Another development within the AKP is the tension escalating with the statements of lawyer Burak Bekiroğlu, who was arrested and subsequently released. Some of the remarks Bekiroğlu made on social media have caused serious controversy within the AKP.

Some AKP members argue that it is essential for both the party's image and its internal integrity to carry out the cabinet reshuffle before these controversies grow any further in the public eye.

The most notable post by Bekiroğlu concerned Yahya Tunç, the brother of Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. In statements made on his social media account, Bekiroğlu pointed to records suggesting that Yahya Tunç was a ByLock user. Bekiroğlu, who was arrested following this allegation, was released shortly thereafter.
