These names include Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek, Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan, Constitutional Court member Muhterem İnce, and the President's Chief of Staff Hasan Doğan.

According to the report by Sözcü, the cabinet revision is expected to take place in January 2026, following the parliamentary deliberations on the 2026 budget.

It is stated that the 2026 budget, which will be discussed in the General Assembly after the Planning and Budget Committee, is one of the reasons for delaying the cabinet change. However, it is suggested that the biggest obstacle is President Erdoğan's inability to decide on a new name for the Ministry of Interior.

CANDIDATES FOR THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

Davut Gül has served as the Governor of Istanbul and previously served as the Governor of Gaziantep. Drawing attention with his experience in Istanbul, Gül stands out as one of the prominent candidates mentioned for the Ministry of Interior.

The name of Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek is also being mentioned for the Ministry of Interior. Gürlek previously served as Deputy Minister of Justice, and it is rumored that he could become the Minister of Interior in the new term following his appointment as Chief Public Prosecutor.

The name of AKP MP Bülent Turan is also being mentioned for the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice. Turan, who has significant support within the party base, is seen as an important candidate in the cabinet reshuffle.
