Fatih Altaylı shares fresh poll results: 'Which party would you vote for if an election were held today?'

The most current data regarding the election atmosphere has returned to the agenda with a comprehensive poll conducted by Ankara Research and Consultancy. In the study announced to the public by journalist Fatih Altaylı, the opinions of 2,004 participants were analyzed. The margin of error for the poll was stated as 2.1.

The participants' past election preferences were also included in the study. Accordingly, 35.8 percent of those who participated in the poll voted for the AKP in the last general election, 25.8 percent for the CHP, 10.3 percent for the MHP, 10.1 percent for the IYI Party, and 8.9 percent for the DEM Party. In the 2023 presidential election, 49.3 percent of the participants supported Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while 44.9 percent supported Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

The responses to the question, "Which party would you vote for if an election were held today?" were measured both before and after the distribution of undecided voters.

While the CHP's vote share was recorded at 25 percent before the distribution of undecided voters, it rose to 32.2 percent after the distribution. The AKP's vote share increased from 22.9 percent to 29.5 percent.

The DEM Party reached 9.3 percent from 7.2 percent, and the MHP reached 7.1 percent from 5.5 percent. While the IYI Party's vote share rose from 4.9 percent to 6.3 percent, the Anahtar Party increased from 3.6 percent to 4.7 percent. The New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) rose from 2.7 percent to 3.5 percent, and the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) rose from 2.3 percent to 3 percent.

In the poll, different presidential election candidate scenarios were also measured.

In the comparison between Ekrem İmamoğlu and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, before the distribution of undecided voters, İmamoğlu received 43.4 percent and Erdoğan received 35.7 percent. With the distribution of the 8.6 percent undecided group, İmamoğlu's vote share rose to 55.6 percent, and Erdoğan's vote share rose to 44.4 percent.

In the race between Mansur Yavaş and Erdoğan, Yavaş was measured at 41.2 percent and Erdoğan at 32.4 percent before the distribution of undecided voters. With the distribution of undecided voters, Yavaş reached 56 percent and Erdoğan reached 49 percent.

In the scenario of Özgür Özel versus Erdoğan, Özel received 37.7 percent and Erdoğan received 36.6 percent before the distribution of undecided voters. In the table where undecided voters were 9.3 percent, after the distribution, Özel was recorded at 50.7 percent and Erdoğan at 49.3 percent.

DEMAND FOR EARLY AND BY-ELECTIONS

In the poll, participants were also asked about their views on early elections and by-elections. The rate of those wanting an early election was 59.9 percent, while the rate of those who did not want one was determined to be 32.4 percent.

While the rate of those who think a by-election should be held was measured at 54.1 percent, the rate of those opposing this was 36.6 percent.
