The GÜNDEMAR Research trustee poll revealed that a large portion of the public is reactive toward Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Here are the details...
While the repercussions of the court-ordered appointment of Gürsel Tekin as a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency continue, a new poll conducted by GÜNDEMAR Research has examined this issue. The "Instant Agenda Survey," conducted on September 3-4, 2025, revealed the public's reactions to the trustee decision.
Approximately 58 percent of those who participated in the survey evaluated the decision to appoint a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency as a "political intervention." This rate shows how widespread the view is that the trustee decision was taken under the influence of politics.
33 percent, on the other hand, described the court decision as a "legal" step.
HIGH REACTION FROM OPPOSITION VOTERS
The perception of the trustee decision among opposition voters is quite clear. 87 percent of CHP voters, 82 percent of IYI Party voters, and 72 percent of DEM Party voters describe this decision as a political intervention. These rates reveal the magnitude of the opposition's reaction.
Voters of the ruling party, however, generally accepted the trustee decision as a legal step. 59 percent of AK Party voters and 61 percent of YRP (New Welfare Party) voters argued that the decision was legal.
31 percent of MHP voters displayed a notable stance by answering "I have no opinion."
