Is the path to release opening? Special permission from Erdoğan for Selahattin Demirtaş!
Selahattin Demirtaş, who was granted special permission with President Erdoğan's approval to be by his wife Başak Demirtaş's side during her surgery, has been taken to Istanbul. It has been alleged that while in Istanbul, Demirtaş also held a phone conversation with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.
It has been stated that former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who is being held in Edirne Prison, was taken to Istanbul for his wife Başak Demirtaş's surgery with the special permission of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to the claim, the phone conversation with MHP leader Bahçeli also took place while Demirtaş was in Istanbul.
According to the report by Yıldıray Oğur from Serbestiyet, Demirtaş was taken to Istanbul on Friday, March 1, following the approval of his request by President Erdoğan and the permission of the Ministry of Justice. Demirtaş met with his wife, Başak Demirtaş, who underwent surgery.
HE HAD SAID ''MAY GOD GRANT LONG LIFE''
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli also called and spoke with Demirtaş during this time. It is reported that Bahçeli both conveyed his get-well wishes to Başak Demirtaş and thanked Selahattin Demirtaş for the prayer "May God grant long life" he offered for Bahçeli, Erdoğan, and Abdullah Öcalan in his latest article, as well as for his support for the process.
MHP sources stated that the conversation went very positively.
Yıldıray Oğur commented, "In other words, there are two important gestures: both the instruction given by Erdoğan for this humanitarian request and Bahçeli's phone call. These gestures could pave the way for Demirtaş's release in the future, as required by ECHR rulings."
