Is there a rift in the reconciliation process? PKK terrorist organization leader comments on Bahçeli: 'There are those who want to sabotage the process'

Statements regarding the new resolution process, referred to by the ruling front as a "Turkey without terrorism," have this time come from one of the leaders of the PKK terrorist organization. Mustafa Karasu, who is part of the organization's so-called leadership cadre, made striking remarks regarding the current state of the process.

Speaking to Medya Haber TV, known for its proximity to the separatist PKK organization, Karasu alleged that certain structures within the state are attempting to undermine the process.

"THE START OF THE PROCESS WAS BAHÇELİ'S CALL"

Karasu stated that the process was ignited by the remarks of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and spoke as follows:

“The beginning of this process was Devlet Bahçeli's call. He said, ‘Let him come and speak at the DEM Party group, let him dissolve his organization, let him end the armed struggle.’ Then he used the expression, ‘Let him benefit from the right to hope.’”

Karasu claimed that the PKK's leadership cadre took this call from MHP leader Bahçeli into consideration.

"THE RIGHT TO HOPE AND ISOLATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN LIFTED"

In his statements, Mustafa Karasu argued that despite Bahçeli's words, the commitments made were not implemented. Expressing that expectations such as the lifting of the isolation imposed on Öcalan and the right to hope were not met, he said, “The commitments made by Devlet Bahçeli were the right to hope, the end of isolation, and the Leader's participation in the process. However, none of these have materialized.”

"THERE IS A STRUCTURE SABOTAGING THE PROCESS"

Karasu alleged that there are certain factions within the state behind the developments:

“The people there will defend themselves. You are going there to kill. We interpret this as follows: A faction within the state wants to break this process. This is an open sabotage.”
