Latest poll results draw attention... AKP has lost half of its vote share: CHP is rising in AKP strongholds!
According to the latest poll by Ankara Araştırma, the AKP has lost nearly half of its 2015 vote share. Director Mert Uzunsoy stated that the CHP is even receiving votes from traditional AKP voters and that the People's Alliance is moving further away from its 50+1 target. Here are the details...
According to the latest public opinion poll conducted by Ankara Araştırma, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) is experiencing a major decline in its vote share. Evaluating the results of the research on SÖZCÜ TV, Ankara Araştırma ve Danışmanlık Director Mert Uzunsoy announced that the AKP's vote share has fallen to 26.7 percent.
Uzunsoy said, "This is the lowest percentage the AK Party has received in all the measurements we have conducted to date."
THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE IS MOVING AWAY FROM 50+1
Stating that the total vote share of the AKP and MHP is around 35 percent, Uzunsoy emphasized that this picture is quite far from the 50+1 percent target that the People's Alliance must reach according to the constitution.
CHP IS RISING IN AKP STRONGHOLDS
Stating that the CHP has recently drawn attention with rallies held in provinces where the AKP is traditionally strong, Uzunsoy said that these efforts are finding a response. He assessed, "The CHP is even winning votes from the most unreachable voters in the AK Party base. This is not just a temporary shift, but a political fracture."
AKP IS THE PARTY LOSING THE MOST
Stating that the AKP has experienced a serious loss of votes, especially in the last 7-8 months, Uzunsoy noted that the most prominent effect of this process was observed with the trustee appointments that began in Esenyurt. He said, "At least 65 percent of the public did not approach the steps taken by the government or the judiciary positively. This has caused the distance between the public and the People's Alliance to widen."
VOTE LOSS HAS APPROACHED 50 PERCENT IN 10 YEARS
Reminding that the AKP received 50 percent of the vote in the November 2015 general elections, Uzunsoy stated that at the current point, the vote share has regressed to the 27-28 percent band. Saying that this means the AKP has lost approximately one out of every two voters in 10 years, Uzunsoy said, "This is a very huge loss."
TRUST IN THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE IS WEAKENING
Stating that broad segments of society are approaching the government's recent practices with distance, Uzunsoy emphasized that there is a high probability that this trend will continue in the coming period. He said, "The political result of the process reveals that the voter is in a strong desire for change."
