Lawyer announces: New development regarding İmamoğlu's diploma! They forgot to delete the master's degree certificate

Following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, a new development has occurred. İmamoğlu's lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan, announced in a statement on social media that his client's undergraduate diploma had been deleted from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) database.

Pehlivan pointed out that the incident occurred at a notable time in connection with the judicial process.

Lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan used the following expressions in his statement regarding the matter:

“The allegations that Ekrem İmamoğlu's undergraduate diploma was deleted from the YÖK database are true. Moreover, this action was taken on the morning of the day the case was filed. We want the public to decide whether this situation is a coincidence or a deliberate intervention.”

However, the detail that drew the most attention in Pehlivan's statements was that only the undergraduate diploma had been deleted from the system.

Pehlivan stated, “Another detail that reveals the lack of legal basis and the lack of seriousness of the process is this: Those who deleted Ekrem İmamoğlu's undergraduate diploma forgot to delete his master's degree graduation!”

Pehlivan also shared İmamoğlu's master's degree graduation certificate with the public. Reacting to the authorities, Pehlivan said, “This haste and inconsistency displayed by those who have been unable to serve the decision they made for 49 days, while trying to obscure his educational information, is a clear indicator of how far they have strayed from the law.”
