New act in the fake diploma scandal: Ottoman descendant checked his graduation certificate multiple times

In the fake diploma investigation that has shaken Turkey, the name of Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu, one of the descendants of Abdul Hamid II, has also been included in the file. Following the exposure of the scandal, Osmanoğlu's diploma was cancelled.

Technical examinations determined that the graduation record was created through fraudulent means and entered into official systems.

Within the scope of the investigation, digital materials were examined in detail. Analysis was conducted using the obtained electronic data and log files. The prepared investigation reports determined that Osmanoğlu performed graduation inquiries in his own name many times. It was also recorded that these inquiries were made using his own mobile phone number.

GRADUATION CREATED WITH A FAKE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE

According to the allegations, the fake graduation record was created using a fake electronic signature issued in the name of Sami Durak, the Head of the Student Affairs Department at Inönü University.

The graduation was made to appear as if it had been processed for the History Department of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Inönü University. However, investigation documents reflect that this transaction was carried out illegally and without the university's knowledge.

IT EVEN ENTERED THE YÖK SYSTEMS

It was determined that the fake graduation in question was not limited to university records but was also entered into the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) system. The prosecutor's office requested official files from YÖK regarding the incident. The examination clearly revealed that there was no student or graduation record registered in the system under the name of Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu.

CHECKED HIS GRADUATION MULTIPLE TIMES

Another striking detail of the investigation was that Osmanoğlu checked the fake graduation certificate created in his name numerous times via e-Devlet.
