As the number of individuals joining the AKP has increased recently, another transfer report has emerged. Şenol Öncül, the Mayor of Aşdağul in Ortaköy, Çorum, has left the CHP and joined the AKP.
Öncül completed his membership at a ceremony held at the AKP Headquarters.
ERDOĞAN WILL PIN HIS BADGE
Öncül's formal participation in the party will be conducted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the AK Party Group Meeting to be held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) next week.
Erdoğan will pin the party badge on Şenol Öncül, making his participation in the party official.
“I AM RETURNING HOME” MESSAGE
Regarding his joining the AKP, Öncül stated, "The AK Party is not a party I am unfamiliar with. I was a member and a soldier of this party before. If God wills, I will strive to serve my town by returning to my party once again."
Şenol Öncül was elected as the Mayor of Aşdağul from the CHP in the March 31, 2024 local elections.
