Özgür Özel gives a harsh response to KİPTAŞ allegations: 'If they prove it, I am dishonorable!'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel answered questions from journalist İsmail Küçükkaya on the "Yeni Bir Sabah" program broadcast on Halk TV. Making striking statements on many issues on the agenda, Özel reacted very harshly to the claim that 100 houses were given from KİPTAŞ at the CHP congress.

Describing the claim as a "grave slander," Özel said, "Let them prove just one, and I am dishonorable. But those who do not prove it are also dishonorable. When we ask for votes from the nation, we only greet them and explain ourselves." He stated that such slanders are part of an organized campaign aimed at smearing the party.

"THERE IS A PROVINCIAL CHAIR WHO LIVES IN A RENTED HOUSE, WHAT 100 HOUSES?"

In his speech, Özgür Özel denied the allegations in question by reminding that even the Istanbul Provincial Chair lives in a rented house, saying, "Do those who say we distributed 100 houses at the congress not see that our most powerful provincial chair is still living in a rented house?"

Responding to the criticisms directed at him on social media, Özgür Özel gave an example from his visit to Ardahan.

"I held rallies in 3 districts at -20 degrees, no one talks about this. I stopped by a women's cooperative, and the women took a photo as a souvenir. They made news saying 'Özgür Özel ate gruyere cheese'," said Özel, noting that a perception operation is being carried out.

Speaking about the court process following the Soma disaster, Özel said that society showed intense support at first, but this interest decreased over time. Özel said, "We attended all 87 hearings. There were thousands of people on the first day, and 150 people in the courtroom on the last day." He called for a struggle, saying, "The good must be as brave and persistent as the bad."

Evaluating the imprisoned IMM employees and the situation of Ekrem İmamoğlu, Özel used the expressions, "It is clear why Mr. Ekrem is being kept inside: so that he does not become a presidential candidate. He is no longer an ordinary politician, he is a leader tasked for this country. He has a great burden on his shoulders."
