Remarkable cabinet commentary from AKP figure: 'It serves the Chief's interests'

Since the transition to the Presidential Government System, claims that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will revise his cabinet have surfaced almost every spring.

As similar rumors stir political corridors for 2025, the question frequently raised by the public, "Will there be a cabinet change?", is once again being widely debated.

Speaking to Nefes newspaper, a senior AKP official made a striking comment questioning the significance of these debates. "You journalists love the word 'change' so much. In this system, what difference does it make if the cabinet changes or not?" the party member asked, arguing that ministers in the Presidential Government System do not hold political identities.

Stating, "You forget that ministers are no longer political figures, but civil servants," the official suggested that news of a cabinet reshuffle essentially benefits Erdoğan.

The party source claimed that there is conscious communication management behind the cabinet speculations. The official stated that by creating an expectation of a cabinet change, Erdoğan avoids placing himself directly at the center of the debates.
