It has been stated that the tension between Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Deputy Minister Bülent Turan continues where it left off.

In recent days, claims that Turan had complained about Yerlikaya to President Erdoğan had come to the fore, further deepening the atmosphere of crisis within the Ministry of Interior.

Finally, the events at the funeral of Deputy Minister Mehmet Aktaş's mother have opened a new chapter in the crisis.

Bülent Turan had wanted to attend the funeral ceremony of Mehmet Aktaş's mother using the Ministry of Interior's plane. However, contrary to his expectations, he did not receive any approval from Yerlikaya regarding his attendance at the funeral.

Turan, who was waiting for the Ministry of Interior's plane to be allocated to him to attend the funeral, was forced to set off using his own means to travel to Elazığ because he did not receive the necessary permission.

TURAN SET OFF USING HIS OWN MEANS

According to Tolga Şardan, Turan flew to Diyarbakır on a scheduled flight early in the morning and reached Elazığ by road from there. During this process, Turan, who wanted to attend via the Ministry of Interior's plane, sought a different solution as this right was not granted to him and attended the funeral on his own.

During the funeral prayer, Yerlikaya and Turan only stood in the same row at the mosque. However, it was noted that the two were not seen together during the other stages of the funeral ceremony.

The tension between Yerlikaya and Turan was not limited to this incident alone. High-level officials of the Ministry of Interior and deputy ministers Münir Karaloğlu and Mehmet Sağlam reached Elazığ by the Ministry of Interior's plane and attended the funeral.

In political circles, it is being discussed that Minister Yerlikaya continues to increase the tension of such events instead of resolving the existing friction. It is stated that this crisis within the Ministry of Interior is leading to further deepening.
