It has been alleged that the former Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has parted ways with three figures known for their closeness to him.

According to information obtained, the relationship with former CHP Deputy Chairman Eren Erdem, journalist Gökhan Özbek, and Kılıçdaroğlu's specially assigned security chief has been terminated.

Eren Erdem entered Parliament as a CHP İstanbul Deputy in the June 2015 and November 2015 general elections and served as a CHP Deputy Chairman for approximately five months in 2023. Erdem, who played an active role in the execution of communication policies within the party, was known to the public as one of the figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu.

Journalist Gökhan Özbek is known as the founder of the news platform 23 Derece. A claim regarding Özbek has recently drawn public attention.

It was alleged that Özbek was the secret witness codenamed "Çınar" mentioned in the corruption investigation conducted against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Özbek strongly denied the claim in a statement he made to the public.

It has been learned that the reason behind the claim that Kılıçdaroğlu parted ways with his security chief is based on assessments that some private information had been leaked. It was alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu held his security chief responsible for the leak of the information.

Following the news published on 12punto, Kılıçdaroğlu's specially assigned security chief Cihangir Sağıroğlu stated that the claim does not reflect the truth.

Sağıroğlu used the following expressions:

"The claim in the news is completely baseless. Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has not made any such request, no such decision has been taken, and no administrative or legal action has taken place. I served successfully as Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's security chief from 2022 to 2025. I have promotion and retirement rights. For this reason, I have been assigned to another duty within the police force at the discretion of the administration."
