Surprise claim ahead of AKP Congress... New role for Kürşad Zorlu: Erdoğan approved!

The 8th Ordinary Grand Congress of the AKP will be held on February 23 at the Ankara Sports Hall. Political corridors have become active ahead of the congress, which will be held under the slogan 'AK in its Name, Future in its Light'.

One of the most discussed claims in recent days is that former İYİ Party Spokesperson Kürşad Zorlu will be brought to a critical position at the AKP Headquarters.

It has been suggested that Zorlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party and joined the AK Party on January 21, with his badge pinned personally by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be appointed to an important position within the party.

TGRT Ankara News Coordinator Ahmet Sözcan claimed in a live broadcast that a 'Presidency of Turkic and Related Communities' would be established within the AKP and that Kürşad Zorlu would be appointed to this role.

If these claims materialize, it is stated that Zorlu will take on an active role at the Headquarters as an AKP Deputy Chairman.

It is being discussed in the corridors that this move could be part of a goal to create a new strategy in the AKP's work regarding foreign policy and the diaspora.
