The leading party among retirees has been identified: It was brought up at the MYK meeting

Striking data regarding public opinion polls were shared at the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

According to the research conducted, 34.5 percent of voters aged 65 and over prefer the CHP. According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin from Birgün, the AKP's vote in this age group remained at the 19 percent level. This rate demonstrates the support the CHP has gained among retirees.

Proposals for increasing pension payments also came to the agenda at the meeting. The CHP promises to raise the lowest pension to 20 thousand TL if it comes to power.

It is stated that the "pensioner watch" initiated in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) on January 5 is continuing to be maintained by CHP provincial and district organizations. Party officials stated that retirees are among the groups most affected and that they will always continue to stand by them against the government's economic policies.

The CHP also aims to develop a strong strategy regarding local governments. It is stated that the projects carried out by CHP-run municipalities since March 2019 will be rewarded by voters in the 2024 local elections.

While it was stated that continuous participation in the promotion of municipal projects will be ensured, it is planned that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will attend at least three municipal projects every week.

In this process, CHP members assess that "Despite all the obstacles from the government, our municipalities continue to maintain contact with the public."

DISTRICT RALLIES AND NEW STRATEGIES

Changes are also being observed in intra-party strategies. The CHP will change the format of the rallies it organizes in the districts of Istanbul. It was recalled that, especially during the trial process of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the CHP displayed a widely attended stance in Silivri with all its echelons. Now, a long-term action plan is being prepared in Silivri, and it is reported that the action areas may be shifted.

A study titled "Lies–Truths," prepared by the CHP regarding the lawsuits against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will also be announced to the public.

EARLY ELECTION DISCUSSIONS

Regarding the elections, which are not expected to be held in 2026, CHP members stated that the earliest election date could be November 2027. It was emphasized that this extension process would cause the AKP to lose.

CHP members made the following assessment: "The Turkish economy is getting worse every day. Under heavy economic conditions, the bond between the public and the government is weakening significantly. Resources distributed during election periods are now seen by the public as 'election bribes.' No matter what is done, the rupture between the public and the government has deepened further, and the AKP will pay the price for this in the first election."
