Turkey's most admired members of parliament announced: Who is at the top?

In a survey conducted by MLS Research between October 20–25, 2025, through face-to-face interviews with 2,620 people in 28 provinces, Turkey's most recognized and admired members of parliament were identified.

Participants were asked whether they recognized the members of parliament; those who did were asked to rate their level of admiration on a scale of 1 to 10.

CHP'S ALİ MAHİR BAŞARIR STOOD OUT

According to the research results, CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır ranked first in both recognition and admiration levels. Başarır was followed by Democrat Party Ordu Deputy Cemal Enginyurt and AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, respectively.

It was noted that names from both the ruling party and the opposition front appeared in the top 10 of the survey results. It was observed that more than one member of parliament from the CHP, AKP, and the Democrat Party were on the list.

NAMES MOST FREQUENTLY SEEN ON SCREEN DREW ATTENTION

It stood out that a large portion of the members of parliament on the list have appeared frequently in the media recently. The frequent appearance of AKP's Mustafa Varank on screens with his statements as party deputy chairman led to comments on social media regarding a "media effect."

THE 10 MOST POPULAR MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT ANNOUNCED

According to the survey results, Turkey's 10 most admired members of parliament were ranked as follows:

Ali Mahir Başarır (CHP) – 15.6%

Cemal Enginyurt (DP) – 14.0%

Ömer Çelik (AKP) – 12.6%

Mahmut Tanal (CHP) – 11.5%

Veli Ağbaba (CHP) – 10.9%

Turhan Çömez (İYİ PARTY) – 9.8%

Mustafa Sarıgül (CHP) – 9.3%

Umut Akdoğan (CHP) – 8.7%

Mustafa Varank (AKP) – 8.2%

Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu (DEM Party) – 7.8%
