Waters are not calming in the AKP corridors. Journalist Nuray Babacan drew attention to the unrest within the ruling party's parliamentary group in her column today.

According to Babacan, there is a serious lack of harmony and a problem with the division of authority within the AKP's parliamentary group management. Sharing insider information she obtained from within the party, Babacan wrote that AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler acting like a "one-man show" is causing discomfort.

Babacan pointed out that there is a serious coordination problem between the AKP headquarters, the Palace, and the parliamentary group. Stating that "if someone stands out in the party management, it bothers the others," Babacan noted that this situation has now begun to be openly voiced within the parliamentary group.

CRITICISM OF GÜLER: "HE MONOPOLIZED THE POWERS"

The most striking claim is directed at Abdullah Güler. It was alleged that Güler has gathered all work in Parliament under his own authority and has left almost no area of responsibility for the other deputy group chairmen.

Babacan used the expression, "Abdullah Güler, who has gathered all powers to himself, does not grant much room for his colleagues to breathe."

One of the most striking details included in Babacan's article was the situation of the deputy group chairmen. It was stated that the deputy chairmen in the AKP Parliamentary Group have taken on a role limited only to standing guard in the General Assembly of Parliament. Babacan described this situation with the words, "Like students on duty at schools."

Stating that factionalism and "blood incompatibilities" continue within the AKP, Babacan noted that the emergence of one name in the party management, especially in the recent period, has caused serious discomfort among other figures.
