Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi breaks silence on her husband's resignation! Will she resign from the CHP?

The Republican People's Party (CHP) held its Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting yesterday (January 26) to determine its mayoral candidates for the local elections.

During the busy hours leading up to midnight within the CHP, Onursal Adıgüzel was nominated to replace Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi.

In a statement on his social media account, İlgezdi claimed that a purge process was underway and that figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu were being removed, leading to his resignation from the CHP.

İlgezdi's wife, CHP Istanbul MP Gamze Akkuş İlgezdi, has broken her silence regarding her husband's resignation. With everyone curious about her stance, İlgezdi first made a post on her social media account. İlgezdi shared information about the candidate introduction meeting that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will attend in Eskişehir.

WILL SHE RESIGN?

Journalist Şaban Sevinç, a guest on the program Özgür İfade with Cansu Canan Özgen, stated that he had spoken with İlgezdi. Sevinç said, "I asked Battal Bey's wife, Gamze Hanım, 'Well, your husband said he would resign and run as a candidate from another party. Who will you vote for?' She replied, 'If you'll excuse me, I won't say.' She didn't say 'I will vote for the CHP,' of course. I asked, 'Are you thinking of resigning?' She said, 'I will not resign; I will continue to remain in the CHP until I die.'"
