General election preparations in MHP: 'We will hit the field'

MHP Samsun Provincial Chairman Burhan Mucur held a meeting with members of the press. During the meeting, he evaluated the March 31 Local Administration General Elections. Mucur stated that the election was a race and that everyone congratulated each other on the morning of April 1.

Mucur evaluated the March 31 elections as follows:

"We live in Samsun, and our common denominator is Samsun. As the People's Alliance, we are among the successful provinces across Samsun. With the figures announced by our Headquarters, we reached a rate of 16.82 percent. We won 59 out of 357 council seats in Samsun, which corresponds to 17 percent. We also hold the council majority in our Salıpazarı district. In the Metropolitan Municipality, we have 12 representatives, including 10 council members and 2 mayors; we represent the People's Alliance together with the AK Party. We support the work of Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan. In the March 31 elections, we entered the race in 17 districts and the Metropolitan Municipality with the People's Alliance. The districts of Asarcık, Alaçam, and Salıpazarı were allocated to the MHP. We won the elections in two of these districts. In Salıpazarı, although we were the leading party in the general vote, we lost the mayoralty by a margin of 76 votes."

GOAL IS TO BE THE LEADING PARTY

Reminding of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's words, "First my state, then my nation," Burhan Mucur said, "As organizations, we provide great support to the AK Party. At the 14th Grand Congress we held on March 17, we once again saw the importance our Chairman attaches to Samsun. It is a great source of pride for us that 3 people from Samsun took part in the Central Executive Board (MYK) and the Central Disciplinary Board (MDK) at the congress."

Mucur stated, "With the instruction of our Chairman, we will hit the field starting from June. The local elections are over, and we have begun preparations for the general elections. Our goal is to make the Nationalist Movement Party the leading party in Samsun. We made the People's Alliance the leading alliance in Samsun."

The meeting was also attended by MDK Member Ceyhun Çatalsakal, Provincial Vice Chairman Responsible for KAÇEP Sevgi Çatalsakal, Provincial Vice Chairman Responsible for Organizations Aykut Çepni, Provincial Vice Chairman Responsible for Media and Promotion Canan Şener, and Provincial Vice Chairman Responsible for Local Administrations Ali Rıza Öztel.
