German Chancellor Scholz has arrived in Istanbul to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The meeting is expected to cover current issues, primarily European Union relations and bilateral ties.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Istanbul to meet with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The plane carrying Scholz and his delegation landed at Istanbul Airport at 22:03 last night.

The German Chancellor was welcomed at Istanbul Airport by Turkey's Ambassador to Berlin, Ahmet Başar Şen, and other officials.
Scholz is scheduled to meet with President Erdoğan today, followed by a joint press conference.

The meeting between German Chancellor Scholz and President Erdoğan is expected to address the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East, as well as migration, the European Union (EU), bilateral relations, and economic policies.
The two leaders previously met in New York, USA, in September, where they had traveled to attend the 79th United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
