German President Steinmeier protested in Sirkeci
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Istanbul for official visits. Steinmeier, who met with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and later visited Sirkeci, was met with protests from a group of 50 people. During the protests, demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Murderer Israel, collaborator Germany” and were intervened by police.

As Steinmeier and İmamoğlu exited the station, a group of 50 people staged a protest.
According to journalist Hilmi Hacaloğlu, the group protested Germany as Steinmeier and IMM Mayor İmamoğlu left the station. During the protests, slogans of “Murderer Israel, collaborator Germany” were chanted.
Following the protests, the police intervened very harshly.
