Gökhan Günaydın reveals: Here is İmamoğlu's final call before being detained!
It has been stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was detained following the cancellation of his university diploma, said during a meeting with CHP officials before the operation, "I trust my nation, do not leave the ballot boxes unattended."
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained in a dawn operation following the cancellation of his university diploma. A detention order was also issued for 106 other people along with IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
Following the detention order, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın shared the call made by Ekrem İmamoğlu.
HE SAID 'I TRUST MY NATION'
Gökhan Günaydın included the following statements:
"We sat at his home late last night. I asked Mayor Ekrem what we should do if such an operation takes place, and he said, 'I trust my nation. On March 23, in all 81 provinces and 970 districts, no one should leave the ballot boxes unattended and everyone should turn out in record numbers, because democracy passes through those ballot boxes.'"
