Gökhan Günaydın has raised a striking allegation regarding the legislative proposal containing fund regulations currently being debated in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Günaydın claimed that the AKP is preparing a motion that would remove legal, administrative, and financial liability for certain institutions and the officials carrying out operations within these institutions.
In a statement on his social media account, Günaydın alleged that the regulation in question would cover the Capital Markets Board (SPK), the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), the Investor Compensation Center, the Stock Exchange, the Central Securities Depository (MKK), Takasbank, and liquidation agencies. According to Günaydın, the motion stipulates that these institutions and the individuals assigned to them would not bear responsibility for "decisions made and actions taken in accordance with the requirements of their duties within the scope of the law."
Stating that the motion he alleges has not yet been submitted to Parliament, Günaydın argued that the regulation aims to provide a protective shield for the bureaucracy.
We are issuing a clear warning! Do not bring this motion to Parliament; stop protecting criminals and forcing the bureaucracy to become complicit in crime.
In his statement, Günaydın also added, "Everyone who commits a crime and participates in a crime will sooner or later be tried." No statement has yet been made by the AKP regarding the allegation.
