Gürsel Tekin's 'You must stand by your word' challenge to Kılıçdaroğlu! 'You don't have the chance to say I'm out'

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency, made evaluations regarding the upcoming party congress process. Speaking at a badge-pinning ceremony held at the Istanbul Provincial Presidency building, Tekin stated that democratic mechanisms would be operated during the congress.

Tekin also used striking expressions regarding the candidacy of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the position of CHP Chairman by a court decision. Stating that everyone can be a candidate during the congress process, Tekin argued that Kılıçdaroğlu cannot make a unilateral decision not to be a candidate.

"In the upcoming congress process, everyone can be a candidate within a democratic mechanism. There is no hesitation there. Every mechanism will function regarding his candidacy as well. But my friend, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu does not have the chance to say 'I'm out' at his own whim."

"YOU WILL STAND BY YOUR WORD"

Expressing that the party must emerge from the current debates, Tekin continued his call to Kılıçdaroğlu with the words, "Since we are going to purify, we will purify and you will entrust it to a safe harbor. You will stand by this word of yours."

Tekin stated that while different names within the party may have career goals, the CHP is going through a critical period and personal calculations should not be prioritized during this process.

"In intra-party debates, our friends naturally have career plans from time to time. But none of us can have a career plan during such a critical process. Whoever has a career plan in this period will have committed the same betrayal to this party as those in the past."
